Museum and Educational Center Services

I offer a range of services for Museums, wildlife centers, and educational centers including custom taxidermy commissions, taxidermy restoration, cleaning, insect checks and preventions, and recoloring. Please contact me with specifics for the job like specimens requiring services, photos of said specimens if possible, and deadline info if there are any to begin the process of getting a quote. I can also arrange to come on-site to assess the work required and take the necessary notes and photos in person with travel costs to be covered by the institution. Some factors that will affect the pricing of restoration jobs include:

  • Age of the specimens. Many antique specimens were prepared using arsenic and other toxic chemicals, extra PPE must be used when handling older taxidermy for this reason.

  • Archival vs modern restoration methods. Antique specimens, especially those with historical significance, rarity, or high value, may require archival restoration, which involves researching the materials that would have been used when it was created and finding the same or similar materials available and safe to use today to restore the damaged areas. As well as restoring the piece in a way that the restorations can be removed later if needed for any reason to return the specimen to its naturally aged state.

I am available for taxidermy commission work on mammals and birds, and can offer replicas of provided specimens for reptiles. I do not yet offer services for fish. I require a 50% non-refundable deposit prior to starting work, and the balance paid upon completion prior to delivery.
